I have been drawing nearly all of my life, but it’s been in little bursts off and on over many years. I studied art at Gage Academy in Seattle, which is a wonderful place to learn the classical style of drawing and painting. Additionally, I studied children’s illustration, at the University of Washington where I received a certificate in Art for the Children’s Market.
I’ve found my voice with watercolor and I paint in a more realist style. I am a student in Lee Baughman’s watercolor class at Clark College, where I enjoy stretching myself as well as the interaction with so many extremely talented people.
I live with my husband in Vancouver, WA, close to my grandchildren. When I’m not doodling or painting, I’m following the kids in all of their activities.
In my artwork, I’m drawn to things familiar to me, like our pets, family, and the ranch in Tonasket, where we spent weekends when I was growing up in Eastern Washington.
If you hear a voice within you say ‘you cannot paint,’ then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced. —Vincent Van Gogh
