About

Southwest Washington Watercolor Society, organized in 1979 to further the interests of watercolor painting and to hold exhibitions of members’ work, to encourage a wider experience and education to both the artist and the viewing public.

Who We Are

We are a non-profit organization that promotes watermedia art: watercolor, acrylic, gouache, and mixed media and who:

  • Serve artists in Southwest Washington: Clark, Cowlitz, Klickitat, Lewis, Pacific, Skamania, and Wahkiakum counties.
  • Provide education and socialization:
    • Artists Helping Artists (AHA)- monthly workshops or demonstrations
    • SWWS sponsors 2 workshops annually with well-known watercolor artists
  • Sponsor Watermedia Exhibits:
    • Juried and non-juried exhibits annually in the spring and fall
    • Art in the Community exhibits at local venues
  • Promote Watercolor Media to students through scholarships and free membership to Clark College students
